It is through people like you that CMPS continues to thrive and grow each year. And we look forward to keeping our legacy burning bright for decades to come.
The CMPS Journal (what membership is all about)...
The CMPS Journal is a monthly publication produced by CMPS for its members. The electronic version of the journal, known as the e-Journal, comes free with your membership in CMPS. If one wishes to receive a hardcopy version of the Journal delivered to one’s home there is an additional charge for printing, postage, and handling costs.
The Journal, as it is sometimes called, consists of various articles on paranormal events and ghost hunting equipment, books and more. The journal also contains written assessments and investigator insight on the latest paranormal event reports being studied by CMPS investigators.
We Have Two Great Levels of Membership
Online 'e-Journal' ONLY
With this membership level you receive access to the 'paperless' version of the CMPS Journal (also known as the e-Journal). The CMPS e-Journal is chock full of the same informative, unbiased, and fact-filled reporting as the hard copy version. Only greener!

In order to be promoted to the position of Paranormal Investigator, every member must achieve a score of at least 80% or greater on the CMPS Paranormal Investigator's Exam. The purpose of administering the exam is to evaluate the individual's practical knowledge in respect to both potential paranormal reports from the public. The exam consists of one hundred questions about spirits, ghosts, CMPS Processes and Protocol and use of the equipment.
Before engaging in an actual investigation the Paranormal Investigator Trainee needs a thorough grounding in the following areas:
Investigative Ethics: Most importantly, the Trainee must understand and adhere to the tenet of anonymity (withholding witness identifiers from persons who are not part of the paranormal report investigation or its evaluation within CMPS.)
Interviewing Methods: Preparation, controlling the setting, the sequence of obtaining a complete account, recognizing sensory perceptions, analyzing witness body language, active listening, interpreting the oral account, and drawing conclusions are all vitally important
Collateral Contacts: In a given circumstance, the Trainee must be aware of which public officials and/or others to contact in order to potentially resolve the report as a misperception, determine the person's reliability as a witness, or identify others who may have witnessed and reported the same event.
Technical Background: A working knowledge should be conveyed to the Trainee on the use and care of all CMPS equipment
In addition , CMPS will conduct a background check on all PI Applicants. If CMPS determines the background check is not acceptable to CMPS, the Field Investigator designation will not be issued to the applicant.
5.MENTOR WITH A LICENSED CMPS PARANORMAL INVESTIGATOR
All trainees are required at work six investigations under the guidance of a licensed CMPS Paranormal Investigator. The Investigator will mentor, guide and access the Trainee as to the CMPS investigative process and protocols as well as knowledge of the care and use of equipment.
